|Copies of version 1 are documented both with and without a signature and seal combination. Although nearly all Hodo signatures in this series are identical, this design has two slightly different signatures (not currently illustrated).
This design is one of several in a small series of garden flowers which Hodo created for Takemura. Although this series was in direct imitation of Maria Gabo's Western Flowers Series
, this particular design does not have a direct counterpart in that series.
Because there are almost certainly additional designs which remain to be documented, this series has not yet been assigned sequence numbers. For now the design is labeled with its original publication date shown in the left margin.
The background colors of this design vary in saturation as shown in the examples above.

, 'narcissus' has been hybridized into many garden forms. Here two narcissus varieties are included, a tall double-flowered hybrid yellow and a small umbel-forming white.
